The property isn’t clean – what should I do?

Failure to report cleanliness issues upon arrival may be considered a breach of our terms and conditions.
To help us resolve the issue, please email through photos so we can assess and arrange for a cleaner to attend as soon as possible.

🔧 No Hot Water?

Let’s warm things up.

Most of our properties use instant gas hot water systems.
First, check whether any taps in the house are producing hot water.
- If there’s no hot water anywhere, it may be a gas bottle issue. Scroll down for step-by-step switch-over instructions.
- If only one tap or shower is cold, it could be a mixer tap issue — try turning both hot and cold taps individually.

💡 Some hot water systems can take a little longer to heat up after the water has been off — especially gas or solar systems.

⚡ No Power?

Let’s do a quick check before raising the alarm.

Check if it’s a local blackout — these are common in some coastal areas.
- Look at nearby houses or check 👉 SA Power Networks for updates.
If it’s just your property:
- Visit the meter board and check that the main switch is ON.
- If it keeps tripping, unplug all appliances, then plug them back in one at a time to find the faulty item.

⚠️ We can only assist once basic troubleshooting has been done.

🧊 Air Conditioner / Heater Not Working?

No one likes a sticky night or a chilly morning — let’s sort it.

Make sure the mode is correctly set (heat vs cool).
Double-check that the remote has batteries and is working.
Try turning the unit off at the wall, waiting 2 minutes, then turning it back on.
Give it a few minutes to respond — some systems take time to fire up.

🔥 Gas Bottle Empty?

No mains gas here — we use bottles!

If your gas appliances (hot water, cooktop, BBQ) suddenly stop working:

Head to the gas bottle area (usually outside).
You’ll find two bottles — one in use, one spare.
Find the changeover valve — it points to the active bottle.
Turn it to the other bottle.
Open the new bottle’s tap fully.

📩 If both bottles seem empty, message us via email and we’ll arrange a replacement.

📶 WiFi Not Working?

Some properties don’t have WiFi — the dream for some, a crisis for others.

If WiFi is included in your property, you’ll find the network name and password in your Guest Portal.
If it’s not there, your property may not include WiFi (check your booking description).
Troubleshooting tips:
- Make sure the router is plugged in and showing lights.
- Try turning it off at the power for 30 seconds, then back on.
- Wait a few minutes for it to reconnect.

💡 Speeds can vary on the South Coast, especially in rural or hilly areas.

🚱 No Water?

Yep, this one can catch people off guard — let’s fix it.

Sometimes the mains water is turned off between bookings, especially at vacant properties.

Here’s how to check:

Head to the front yard.
Locate the water meter — it’s usually a tap with a small meter attached.
- It might be hidden in a garden bed or behind a bush — feel free to call it a treasure hunt.
Turn the tap fully ON (anti-clockwise).
Wait a moment — once it’s flowing, you’re back in business.

💡 Hot water may take longer to kick in if the water has just been turned on.

🗑️ Bin Night & Waste Sorting

Let’s keep things clean and coastal.

Please put bins out the night before collection and bring them in the next day.

🔑 Key Return

Checking out? Here’s what to do with the key.

If the property has a lockbox, please return the key to it before leaving.
If there’s no lockbox, drop it into our:
- After Hours Key Return Chute
  📍 39 Crozier Road, Victor Harbor
  (Located at our back door near the carpark out the back of the business)

Please don’t leave keys inside the property.
